Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Mohammad SanusiBarkindo, has expressed excitement over the ratification of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwuala as the director-general of World Trade Organisation.
In a letter of congratulations, Barkindo, who addressed the new WTO DG as “Mr Dear Sister, Ngozi”, thanked the WTO council for confirming Dr. Okonjo-Iweala for the Organisation’s top job.
He said by the confirmation, Okonjo-Iweala has emerged the first female and also the first African to head the organisation.
