The Lagos Chapter of the Women in Energy, Oil and Gas (WEOG) Association has launched an exclusive business directory in response to some of the noticeable challenges women entrepreneurs in Nigeria face, especially within the male-dominated petroleum sector.
The Managing Director of Offshore Dimensions, who is also the Chapter Director of WEOG Lagos, Joan Faluyi, said that the launch is expected to further boost the presence and success of women-owned businesses in the energy, oil, and gas sectors.
In her own words, “the directory aims to be more than just a listing. It’s a tool, a resource, and a community. We understand the unique challenges faced by women in this industry, and through this directory, we want to provide them with every possible advantage.”
While giving her remarks, the MD and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ACME Multitech Services Limited, who is also the Deputy Chapter Director of WEOG Lagos, Adejumoke Oyedun, said that “it is high time initiatives like these were introduced. For too long, women-owned businesses in the energy, oil, and gas sectors have been marginalized. This directory could be a game-changer.”
