The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled maintenance operation that will temporarily disrupt electricity supply in several areas. The maintenance is set to occur today, April 16, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
During this three-hour window, TCN’s engineers will be working on the 330kV Shiroro-Gwagwalada transmission line, which has recently suffered vandalism. The operation involves taking out the Jiwa and Suleja 33kV feeders at the Suleja 132/33kV Transmission Substation to ensure a safe environment for the necessary repairs.
As a result of the maintenance work, Abuja DisCo will be unable to deliver electricity to customers in the following areas: Gauraka, Zuba, Tungan Maje, Anagada, Jiwa, Kaduna Road, Winners Village, New Gwazutu, APC Quarters, Empires Gas Energy, Royal Institute, Kantoma Injection Substation, and the Suleja International Market.
TCN expressed regrets for the inconvenience this may cause residents and businesses in the affected locations and promised to restore normal service as swiftly as possible.
Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, urges the public to make necessary preparations for the temporary power outage and to stay tuned for further updates.
