Petrol sells at N350 per litre in Imo state as marketers, drivers call off strike

Independent Petroleum Marketers and Dealers Association and Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association in Imo State on Wednesday’s afternoon called off their strike action after a closed door meeting with the state governor, Hope Uzodinma.

The meeting which held at the Government House in Owerri, the state capital, came few weeks after the associations had embarked on indefinite strike action to express their grievances against the state government.

The strike action led to hike in the price of premium motor spirit in the state leading to hike in transport fare, goods and services.

While many fuel stations in the state increased price of fuel to N350 per litre, black market sold as high as N600, per litre.

IPMAN secretary, Eberechi Ezeji, who spoke to correspondents after the closed door meeting with the state governor, said the strike action had been called off with immediate effect.

Ezeji, disclosed that the two parties had reached a compromise after the meeting which lasted for hours.
