The Secretariat of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will hold the First Technical Workshop with energy companies on Monday, October 11, via videoconference.

The workshop will address the future role of petroleum in the energy transition, with a focus on the perspectives of national and international oil companies.

It will also address the opportunities and challenges that are associated with the rapidly changing industry dynamics.

“The Technical Workshop with Energy Companies signifies a new milestone in the organisation’s outreach efforts. It builds on OPEC’s long tradition of promoting partnerships with a wide range of industry stakeholders, including public and private sector organisations and corporations,” the OPEC Secretary General, HE, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, said.

The event will feature panel discussions, with industry experts from OPEC member countries, national and international oil companies, as well as research institutions and international organisations.

OPEC has been committed to supporting stability in the global oil market since it was founded in September 1960 in Baghdad, Iraq.

This event is part of the OPEC’s ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and international cooperation in support of oil market stability.
