The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has said that a total of 339 million litres of fuel was distributed to about 63 depots across the country in seven days.
According to data obtained from NNPCL and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the products were sent out between February 25 and March 3.
The Weekly National Premium Motor Spirits (PMS) Evacuation and Dispatch Report revealed that 339 million litres of petrol was distributed across the states in Nigeria.
From the information contained in the reports, it was revealed that Lagos got the lion’s share of about 1.73 billion litres, while other states that got huge shares as well include Delta, which got 610 million litres; and Oyo, which got 531 million litres.
The daily average distribution of fuel was between 48 million litres and 63 million litres. NNPCL and NMDPRA said that 79 percent of all evacuations took place at the top 25 loading depots with a minimum evacuation of 5 million litres.
