The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, on Tuesday in Abuja received the Managing Director/CEO of Total, Nicholas Terraz, who was accompanied by the Deputy Managing Director, Ahmadu-Kida Musa.
They came to present a visual model of the successfully delivered EGINA Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel to him.
The EGINA FPSO which weighs close to 220,000 metric tons and measures 330 meters long by 60 meters wide, is the largest ever built by Total.
The vessel is now in operation offshore Nigeria’s Niger Delta region and is connected to 44 subsea wells, 1,600 meters deep and will produce 200,000 barrels of oil per day.
In another development, Kachikwu on Tuesday received the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Waziri Adio.
The meeting elaborated on the need for more transparency in the Nigerian oil and gas sector as contained in the “Transparency and Efficiency” component of the seven Big Wins.
