Hyde Energy Limited, a global energy trading Company, has commissioned a new Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) facility in Benue State as part of its drive to expand its LPG operations.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hyde Energy, Oladimeji Edwards, while speaking at the official commissioning, said that the firm is proud to partner with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in order to bring a project as important as the new LPG facility to completion. He stated that the facility is a symbol of the Company’s commitment to a more secure and sustainable future.
In his own words, “we are bringing tangible benefits to both domestic and business LPG users, to the Nigerian economy, and to the environment at large. From developing storage terminals to establishing LPG hubs across Nigeria, our strategy focuses on delivering LPG to homes and other end users safely and efficiently.”
The Chief of Air Staff of NAF, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, who was represented by the Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal Nelson Ebieteli Calmday, outlined the importance of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited (NAFIL) and Hyde Energy LPG Facility and commended Energy Company for the initiative.
According to him, “this is a good project for NAF, Makurdi, and for the community as a whole. The commissioning of this project will enhance personnel motivation and welfare, which is a priority of the Chief of Air Staff.
“Security and safety is our top priority as a security organization, and we will ensure that this will be adhered to. We are confident that the LPG facility will be a valuable asset to the NAF community, and it will help enhance a cleaner environment.”
The NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility is the first of its kind and it is located at the NAF base in Markudi, Benue State. It is projected to provide the Force and its environs with a reliable and sustainable source of energy, as well as improve the adoption of LPG in homes rather than the use of wood and kerosene.
The investment is part of moves that will significantly offer environmental benefits, and support Nigeria’s Decade of Gas policy. With a capacity of 40 Metric Tonnes (MT), it is expected to create employment opportunities and increase the economy of the state, while also contributing to the country’s Human Development Index.
Hyde Energy, as part of its promises to expand its LPG plants in the North and South-East, has eight other outlets in the North and South-west that are scheduled for commissioning soon.
