FG Seeks Emerson’s Cooperation on Energy Transition Projects

The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Gas, Ekperikpe Ekpo, has sought for the cooperation of Emerson Automation Solutions Limited on Nigeria’s energy transition and gas grid automation projects.

Ekpo mad the request at a meeting held on the sidelines of the just concluded 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

He asked Emerson, a renowned global automation company, to join hands with the Federal Government to achieve set targets in energy transition journey.

A statement by the spokesman to the gas minister, Louis Ibah, noted that Ekpo, during the meeting, specifically urged Emerson to bring up innovative solutions to tackling fugitive emissions and assist the country measure fugitive emissions.

The President of the Middle East and Africa for Emerson, Mr. Mathias Schinzel, who thanked the minister for the meeting, restated that the company’s commitment to providing quality service to the Nigerian gas industry.

He pointed out Emerson’s vast experience in the entire gas industry value chain from sensors to meters and restated their commitment in bringing that to bear in a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Gas.
