Expert Advocates For LPG, CNG Mini Plants To Boost Industrialization

LPG Plant

A petroleum industry stakeholder, who is also the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Alphaden Group, Engr. Paschal Anyanwu, has advocated for the establishment of mini gas plants that will aid the processing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the rapid industrialization of Nigeria.

Anyanwu said this recently on the sidelines of the Nigerian Content Workshop (NCW), which was organized by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in Port Harcourt.

He explained that Nigeria cannot become a part of the League of industrialized nations without exploring and exploiting the petrochemicals it has, most especially gas, which the country is richly blessed with.

The GMD also commended the Federal Government for the declaration of 2020-2030 as the “Decade of Gas”.

According to him, the industrialization of Nigeria cannot happen without petrochemicals and the foundation of petrochemicals is gas.

He said that gas is more than just a fuel because it is used in the production of power, fertilizer, perfume, and for many other things, as well as in many other areas.

In his own words, “the fastest way to industrialize, is to monetize our gas. We should have gas pipelines across the country.

“The gas space has a lot of value chains and it will be quite advantageous for engineers to find ways to fit themselves in those value chains. We will create power, fertilizer, and a host of others. With gas, we won’t have any issue of poor power supply in this country.”
