Aside being the Lead Speaker, Engr. Sarki Auwalu, Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), on Monday in Abuja, clinched the ‘Chief Executive Officer of the Year’ Award by the Valuechain Magazine, during media organisation’s 4th Lecture and Awards.
Valuechain Magazine, bestowed the award on Auwalu for his exemplary leadership of the regulatory agency.
The media outfit based it’s choice of the DPR director, among others, under whose leadership, DPR has been transformed from a regulatory agency to a business enabler and opportunity house for the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
The DPR has also been able to establish the National Oil and Gas Excellence Centre (NOGEC) in Lagos and inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in January. He, in addition, successfully conducted the bidding for 57 marginal oilfields in the country which has been rated as the most transparent so far.
Expressing appreciation, Engr. Auwalu commended Valuechain Magazine for the recognition, stressing that DPR would continue to bring innovations and creativity with a view to adding value to the industry.
The recipient assured that DPR would continue to create opportunities that enable investments and business for stakeholders by using its service instrumentalities and licenses that enable participation.
The DPR Chief Executive also commended members of his workforce for their support and whose hard work made it possible for DPR to achieve its set targets over the past years.
