Dangote to construct 3 roads in Kaduna, El-Rufai reveals

State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has said three roads will be reconstructed by Business Mogul, Aliko Dangote.

The three roads according to the governor are the Nnamdi Azikwe Expressway, Birnin-Gwari -Funtua Road and Kaduna -Birnin Gwari road.

El-rufai made this known via his twitter handle. He explained that the Reconstruction will be done by Dangote Group under FIRS Tax Credit scheme.

He tweeted, “we are aware and waiting for rains to end to begin complete reconstruction of Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway (Western Bye-Pass) into dual lane reinforced concrete road that will last much longer than asphalt.

“We wish to acknowledge that under FIRS Tax Credit, @AlikoDangote is also rebuilding 2 federal roads in our State, & converting them to reinforced concrete highways – 1) Birnin Gwari-Funtua Road & 2) 100km of Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road. Thank you @MBuhari & #FIRS.”

Giving more women the opportunity to serve, two more women have been appointed by the governor as Special Advisers, according to a statement by his media aide, Muyiwa Adekeye.

The women are among the 17 aides appointed by the governor on Tuesday.

According to the statement, Mrs. Stella Amako is now SA Community Relations and Hajiya Zainab Shehu, SA Social Development.

It said that the appointments bring to five the number of women among the 11 special advisers in the administration.

Meanwhile, the state governor has donated 85 patrol vans to security agencies in the state.

He said security threats of kidnapping and banditry have replaced communal clashes in Kaduna.

El-Rufai, however, assured that intense efforts, including security deployments and operations to contain and neutralise the criminal elements perpetrating the mayhem were being made to address the challenges.

The governor, who was represented at the presentation of the vehicles by the Secretary to the State Government, Balarabe Abbas Lawal said, his government cannot relent in tackling criminals who seek to make communities and highways in the state unsafe.

El-Rufai who is rumoured to be nursing ambition to succeed president Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, said, “About four years ago, we presented over 100 such vehicles to our security agencies. Over the years, we have provided additional interventions of vehicles, motorcycles and communications equipment on a continuous basis.“Security is constitutionally the exclusive prerogative of the Federal Government which controls and deploys all the covert and overt security personnel. In practice, every state government has to provide some logistics and other support for these agencies to enable them effectively discharge their duties.

“We will continue to devote the necessary resources to address our security challenges and support the agencies that are stationed in our state. As we combat banditry, I urge all residents of Kaduna State to stand together, support our security agencies and report all suspicious characters and activities,” El-Rufai said.
