Suzuki S-Presso: Best in Class of Compact Vehicles

-By Yange Ikyaa

Since CFAO and Moove recently announced a partnership to ensure easier access for Nigerians to brand-new vehicles, the Suzuki S-Presso has suddenly become the new leader in the class of compact vehicles on Nigeria roads.

In addition, CFAO Motors Nigeria, which is the sole distributor of Suzuki cars in Nigeria, has further delivered several cars from the Suzuki brand to Moove. The latter is the world’s first mobility fintech, providing revenue-based vehicle financing and financial services to mobility entrepreneurs. On the basis of its services, many Nigerians are now face to face with the rare but invaluable opportunity of claiming ownership of new vehicles.

The increasing number of Mini-Suzuki SUVs on streets of Lagos and other parts of Nigeria is therefore symbolic of the outcome of this partnership between CFAO Motors and Moove. It is also the reason for the dominance being exhibited by Suzuki S-Presso on the main roads and major streets of Nigeria.

Built with a compact but sturdy appearance and a distinct design, the Suzuki S-Presso has already generated a lot of interest among Nigerians. Although considered a small vehicle, the S-Presso is packed with features that make it arguably the best in its class of compact vehicles currently around.

In terms of affordability, it offers the best value for money when it comes to one-time price points and cost-effectiveness in terms of the total cost of ownership, covering fuel efficiency and low maintenance cost, among other benefits. This allows a middle-income earner to afford a brand-new vehicle under a full warranty.

The S-Presso is a city car with several crossover-inspired design elements and a high ground clearance of 180 centimeters, enabling it to drive on difficult terrain. It also has a lot of headroom and a cabin of luggage space.

The safety features have been validated in a thorough second safety test, which was conducted in South Africa by the Global NCAP or New Car Assessment Programme, with the Suzuki S-Presso scoring a three-star rating in safety.

The vehicle is equipped with dual SRS airbags for both the driver and the passenger. Its high tensile steel body is a hallmark of Suzuki’s TECT, or Total Effective Control Technology, which helps in protecting the cabin in the event of a collision by efficiently absorbing and dispersing energy. It is also equipped with a seat belt with pre-tensioner and load limiters, which enhances passenger safety in any case of an impact.

During an emergency braking situation, the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) keeps the tyres from locking. Furthermore, the electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) optimally distributes front and rear braking forces to help in stably stopping the vehicle. Yet, the Suzuki S-Presso is equipped with reverse sensors to avoid collision with obstacles and protect pedestrians.

Added together, these factors have, undoubtedly, made this particular Suzuki model a formidable competitor in the automobile market, even as CFAO Group has continued in its business of distributing renowned brands in Nigeria and the African continent at large.
