Sun King Launches Solar Inverter in Nigeria, Outlines Benefits

By Adaobi Rhema Oguejiofor

Sun King Solar, a leading global manufacturer in the solar energy systems industry, has launched its new solar inverter in Nigeria. This is in line with its commitment to leveraging technology in contributing to sustainable energy production and deployment.

The Sun King EasyBuy General Manager for West and Central Africa, Omoyemi Tuga, while speaking at the launch of the latest solar innovation, said that the new inverter represents an order-of-magnitude leap forward in solar generating capacity for a Sun King product.

He also expressed that the organization was excited to deliver reliable, professionally installed, and serviced grid-equivalent solar power to customers who make use of polluting and expensive fossil-fuel-powered generators or depend on the unreliable grid. Tuga added that the inverter provides homes and businesses with an excellent, clean and affordable energy around the clock.

In his own words, “this solar inverter is the initial offering in a planned series of high-performance solar inverter systems that Sun King intends to make available to Nigerian households and businesses. So, we are developing a range of flexible, modular, and more powerful solar systems to cater to Nigerian consumers’ diverse energy needs.”

The Sun King Manager explained that the new expandable hybrid inverter is designed to generate up to 2,000 watts of electricity, which is equivalent to the grid, and it can also be connected to two sources of electricity, such as solar panels and, when available, the grid.

According to him, the inverter can power appliances directly or charge a zero-maintenance lithium iron phosphate battery, which reduces households’ energy costs and provides an uninterrupted power supply. The battery is designed to last ten years and the products have a three-year warranty, providing customers with what he called “peace of mind.”

Tuga further stated that because sometimes solar products are expensive, in order to make them affordable, customers can purchase the product using Sun King’s pay-as-you-go financing service, which breaks payments down into regular, affordable installments. These payments, he said, can be made via mobile money or cash for as low as N21,500 per week.

The General Manager explained that the solar inverters are available nationwide through Sun King’s 68 Nigerian retail branches and in the Company’s network of distribution partners. He gave the assurance that potential customers can be able to book an at-home energy assessment through Sun King’s 8,400 field executives, from sales and installation to servicing and ongoing support, as Sun King’s field executives continuously offer end-to-end customer support.
