The Nigerian Army has supported veteran actor Samanja with N2 million to cater to his health needs during a visit to his (Usman Baba Pategi) residence in Kaduna recently.
Chief of Army Staff, Major General Faruk Yahaya represented by Brigadier General Vitalis Okoro at the visit to ‘Samanja’, explained that he was informed of the health challenges of the veteran actor and felt obliged to lend some support.
He maintained that the Nigerian Army remained excited about how Samanja positively projected the image of the army by giving the public, an insight on how life was in the Army barracks, and the niche he carved out for himself in the entertainment industry.
The visibly elated Samanja, who recalled with nostalgia, his stint in the army, expressed his immense gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for identifying with him and prayed for the continued peaceful co-existence of Nigeria.
It would be called that last week, Samanja debunked rumours making the rounds about his death.
