There have been troublesome times at United this season and on Tuesday morning Jose Mourinho was given the sack.
In a face-to-face meeting with Ed Woodward, the Old Trafford supremo wielded the axe on the Portuguese coach.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come in on an interim basis to lift the doom and gloom at the Red Devils at the moment.
And so far so good, with a 5-1 win over Cardiff in his debut match as manager to send United fans crazy.
The first man to net during the Solskjaer era was Rashford, who opened the scoring with a fine free-kick in the opening minutes.
But his future has been discussed at length this season after a series of problems with Mourinho.
It has led to the youngster seeing his progress stall and his goal on Saturday was just his fourth in the Premier League.
And according to the Express, it has led the top clubs in Europe registering an interest in him.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are ready to battle it out for the Englishman, though a move in January is unlikely.
AC Milan have long held an interest in the 21-year-old, who will look for assurances over his future at United.
Solskjaer has already been briefed on his objectives at Old Trafford – stick to the principles over results.
Meanwhile, former club captain Wayne Rooney admitted in the BT Sport studio that sacking Mourinho was correct.
“Yes [it was the right decision to sack Jose Mourinho], I think something had to change,” he said.
“I think it was the right decision and now the club have given Ole the job until the end of the season and they will see how he does while they search for a new manager and they try and make sure they get the right manager this time.
“Of course I stay in touch with people at the club, I speak to them quite a lot this week,” he continued.
“I think to be a successful football club you need everything to be right, the staff at the training ground, the groundsman needs to feel happy.
“That relationship between the staff and some of the players wasn’t great.”
