NUPENG, PENGASSAN Allay Fears Over Fuel Scarcity

Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has allayed fears of a hitch in petroleum products supply in the country.

They gave the assurance as Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has constituted a task force committee to monitor hoarding of petroleum products, and artificial scarcity following noticeable queues for buying of fuel in some parts of the country.

“There is no indication for any scarcity to the extent I know”

NUPENG Principal Assistant General Secretary, Research/ Public Affairs, Adamson Momoh, who made this known to LEADERSHIP said they believe in the announcement of NNPC.

Also the public relations officer of PENGASSAN, Aniete Udoh said, “There is no indication for any scarcity to the extent I know.”

LEADERSHIP checks show that queues have resurfaced in some states as many filling stations across the country are either hoarding fuel thereby creating fear of scarcity while some are closing down their activities, causing panic among people in the country.
