NNPCL, NIGCOMSAT In Partnership To Monitor Sensitive Equipment

The National Petroleum Telecommunications
(NAPET) Limited, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, and the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited, have entered into a strategic partnership to provide satellite services on monitoring NAPETs sensitive equipment and services.

The partnership came as a result of a meeting between the two organisations during a visit to NAPET by NIGCOMSAT Management team, which was led by its Managing Director, Tukur Mohammed Lawal. He guaranteed that NIGCOMSAT has the capacity and the manpower to provide satellite solutions to NAPET and its mother Company, NNPC Limited.

The General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Special Projects, NIGCOMSAT, Dr. Adamu Idris, in a statement said that the agreement offers the Company a strategic pathway to sustain its business enterprise.

Lawal praised the contributions of NNPC and its subsidiary, NAPET, in providing services that enable the Nigerian economy to grow.

The Managing Director of NAPET, Sanusi Yerima, at the meeting, expressed confidence that the strategic partnership would help upscale the infrastructure of  NNPC.

In his words, “we are hitting the ground running, I do not believe in low hanging fruit, we can do business anywhere in the world. l believe in where we can get business and make profit. 

“We have seen the Kogi, Kaduna and Abuja (KKA) pipeline project ongoing through the services of NIGCOMSAT. We are also impressed with NIGCOMSAT’s On the Move Vehicle, which is an infrastructure that provides services in remote areas, in the air, and on the sea through satellite services.

He added that NAPET is confident that it can do business with NIGCOMSAT, and that the partnership is a strategic and a welcome development.
