The well, spud on September 2, 2024, reached a depth of 8,983ft by September 13, encountering 690ft of hydrocarbons within Miocene sands.
This discovery, which appraises an extension of the Meji field, supports Chevron’s broader global strategy of tapping new resources and shortening development cycles. The rig left the site on October 2, 2024.
