The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said that the average retail price of Household Kerosene (HHK) per litre in Nigeria, has increased from N450.66 in February 2022 to N1,173.89 in February 2023.
This was disclosed in Its Household Kerosene Price Watch Report for February 2023.
According to the report, on a year-on-year basis, the average retail price of kerosene per litre shot up by 160.48 percent from the N450.66 that was obtainable in February 2022.
The report also stated that the average retail price of Household Kerosene (HHK) paid by consumers per litre in February 2023 was N1,173.89 and this indicates an increase of 1.78% when compared to the N1,153.40 recorded in January 2023.
Based on state profile analysis, the data revealed that Plateau residents paid the highest average price of N1,550.00 per litre in February 2023, followed by Abuja and Adamawa which paid N1,473.33 and N1,438.10 respectively.
Nassarawa was reported to have paid the lowest price of N923.81, followed by Sokoto and Katsina which paid N956.94 and N945.83 respectively.
The report also stated that the average retail price of Household Kerosene per gallon was N3,926.23 in February 2023, this indicates an increase of 1.03 percent from N3,886.11 in January 2023.
