NGA Begins 3-day Training Course July 27

The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) is set to roll out a training course that will provide delegates the opportunity to examine the regulatory, commercial and technical aspects of the natural gas value chain in Nigeria and beyond.

Tagged ‘Understanding the Natural Gas Value Chain End-to-End’, the event has been scheduled to hold over three days, from July 27 to 29.

“It will consist of several in-depth modules delivered by industry subject matter experts, with attendee interaction and question & answer segments, lasting from 0900 to 1700 hrs each day,” NGA said of its Learning Solutions Training Event Series.

Valuechain reports that the NGA Learning Solutions is a certificated course/training programme with an objective to provide a comprehensive insight into the Nigerian gas sector, and enable participants to develop a greater understanding, interest and appreciation of the Nigerian gas industry value chain.

NGA noted that the Nigerian gas industry is expected to reveal and create value and opportunity in equal measure from Nigeria’s vast gas resources, following the recent declaration of Nigeria’s  Decade of Gas, and with the backdrop of the global changes due to the COVID pandemic, the accelerated pace of change in the industry.

The event, NGA said, will be recorded for attendees who would not be able to attend live to watch at their convenience.

“Course fee is ₦60,000 per attendee (NGA associate members) and ₦90,000 per attendee (non-NGA members),” it added.

The event will accommodate 19 course modules, including: Introduction to Policy & Regulatory Framework; Natural Gas Formation; Exploration & Production; Natural Gas Processing and Sweetening; Gas Plant Technology – LNG & Mini LNG; Gas-to-Liquid Technology; Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Technology; Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Technology; and Natural Gas Transport & Storage.

Others are: Gas-to-Power Technology; Gas-based Industry; Global Gas Market; Domestic Gas Utilisation; Future of Natural Gas Industry in Nigeria; Gas Marketing & Sales; Gas Pricing; Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code; Health, Safety, Environment, Community Relations; Investment Opportunities in the Nigerian Gas Industry Value Chain; and Gas Value Chain Contracts.

Valuechain reports that NGA is the apex organisation representing the varied and numerous stakeholders in the gas sector within the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The NGA was formed in 1999 as a non-political association to promote the development of gas in Nigeria for the benefit of the nation and the various stakeholders.

With its initial membership drawn from the primary gas production and utilisation companies in Nigeria, the NGA is the largest gas-focused volunteer/individual-member organisation – the umbrella association and voice of the gas industry in Nigeria.
