The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator, Douye Diri and the Deputy Governor, Senator  Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, led other members of the state executive to receive the leadership of Nigeria’s leading energy operator, Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Wednesday, April 16, 2026.

The governor expressed pride in the ‘Nigerianness’ of the leadership of Renaissance and pledged his administration’s ‘supportive and cordial relationship with Renaissance, much more than the state gave to the previous operator of the joint venture assets in the state.

Renaissance succeeds The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited as the operator of the NNPC/Renaissance/TotalEnergies/AENR Joint Venture.
