Fuel scarcity looms as IPMAN undertake strike action over extortion

Alhaji Yahaya Ahman Alhassan, chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN), during a chat with journalist, stated that the Abuja/Suleja unit has threatened to go on strike over alleged extortion by officials of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR. He further noted that the strike action will take place from Monday, June 21, 2021.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN also stated that they’ve been having constant disagreement with the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, over request for daily transactions record from filling station.

He said, “IPMAN has no other alternative other than instructing our members not to load from Suleja depot in Niger State to express our frustrations after all efforts to make DPR officials desist from unethical practices failed.

According to him, the IPMAN Abuja/Suleja unit, demands an explanation from the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, in connection with the daily request for sales activities from filling stations, saying “these issues have to be resolved before we can commence lifting of products from the depot.”
