The Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Silverbird Group, a multi-media company in Nigeria, Mr. Benedict Murray- Bruce, has asked the Nigerian Government to apologize to Nigerians for its inability to build or fix the refineries in the country.

Murray-Bruce, who is a Former Nigerian Senator, said this during an interview with journalists at the inauguration of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos on Monday.

In his own words, “it took one man to do what government should have done over the years. He has basically embarrassed multiple governments in Nigeria. It took one man to build this refinery and they couldn’t fix the refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna. The government should apologize to Nigerians for not being able to do what one man has done.”

Murray- Bruce also noted that the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) will increase and that Nigerians will have to buy at the market value. According to him, the Dangote Refinery is not going to make prices drop, you are going to pay market value. If you pay about N8000 to N10,000 thousand to get a full tank, then be ready to pay about N30,000 thousand.

He added that unless government decides to subsidize, Nigerians will have to buy fuel at market price, as selling outside the market value will cause the Dangote Refinery to go bankrupt.
