FIFA Rankings: Super Eagles’ latest position revealed

*There was no international football in April and May, but the world football governing body has released its latest global rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles remain unchanged in the latest FIFA rankings released for May. The three-time African champions last played in March, and they remain in the position they were in in April.

Gernot Rohr’s men moved up to 32nd position in April following the win over Benin and Lesotho in their final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

They also stay in third place on the African continent, just behind Senegal and Tunisia, respectively. The Teranga Lions remain Africa’s number one nation and are ranked 22nd globally.

The Carthage Eagles are four places behind in 26th place. The rankings table looks likely to change when it’s released next month as there are many international matches taking place.

Meanwhile, the top ten also remain unchanged, with Belgium occupying the number one spot followed by France, Brazil, England and Portugal in that order.
