Officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from the Yola International Airport have requested that the Federal Government intervene in order to address the issues of ‘epileptic’ electricity supply and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), which is affecting both aeromatic and non-aeromatic businesses in the aviation industry.
The officials, who prefer to remain anonymous, revealed that the Yola Airport maintains an average of 30 flights per month and three flights daily.
According to them, the number of flights increases to its peak during festive periods and pilgrimage exercise, as pilgrims from both Taraba and Adamawa States are being airlifted to Mecca and Jerusalem, with Aero Contractor, Air Peace, and AZMAN leading in the flights’ schedules.
They complained about the high cost of aviation fuel, as the major challenge affecting revenue boost in the airport.
