The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has continued to plead with its customers to help end the increasing rate of attacks on its facilities, which is being caused by vandals.
The Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, who made this plea in Enugu on Wednesday, also said that 15 suspected vandals were arrested between January and February 2023, including a receiver of the vandalized items.
He regretted that the activities of vandals have become a “thorn in the Company’s flesh,” and further called for vigilance and continuous support from customers.
Ezeh lamented that the situation is almost damaging all its facilities and negatively impacting its services to customers, but commended the various vigilante groups within the franchise area for their assistance and support in apprehending these vandals.
He confirmed that all the vandals in question were arrested by members of vigilante groups.
