The governments of Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria are currently in high level talks for the construction of a gas pipeline that will link the two nations.

Mr. Fransico Edu Ngua Mangue, the Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Nigeria, disclosed this recently when the Management Team of Valuechain Magazine, led by the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Musa Bashir Usman, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador at his office in Abuja.

His words: “We have a big project now, a gas pipeline from Port Harcourt in Nigeria to my country to process the gas that is bought from Nigeria and then sell to the world, including in Nigeria in the form of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

“That project is very interesting and it is due to be signed. Now we are expecting that maybe before the end of the year, my President will come here to sign the agreement.”

Mangue also commended Valuechain Media for the good work that the media company has been doing, saying that “this sector where you are to inform us about happenings is very interesting because many people don’t know what happens on the side of our country in the oil and gas sector.”

On the trade relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, the Ambassador said “I need to take that opportunity to inform us that we are brothers, we are near but, yet, we are still far from each other in terms of knowledge about ourselves and in trade relations.”

He also lamented that people from Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, and the entire northern region of the country; do not know what happens in his country, but only those from Lagos, Calabar and Port Harcourt that know what happens in Equatorial Guinea.
