BARKINDO: Sarkin Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero Condoles With OPEC, Buhari

His Highness Sarkin Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has described the demise of HE, Dr. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, the immediate past Secretary General of OPEC as a great loss, not only to Nigeria but to all member-countries of the Organisation where Barkindo served for two terms of six years until his death on 5th July, 2022 .

He said in a condolence letter addressed to the incumbent Secretary General of OPEC and signed by Abdullahi Haruna Kwaru, private secretary of His Highness, that “we also use the opportunity to condole with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR over the the loss of a great man, a patriotic and diplomat who projected a good image of Nigeria at international level.

“The deceased will continue to be remembered as a pillar of the OPEC, having served the organisation for over 30 years before becoming the administrative head of the global outfit,” the letter stated.

It continued: “We pray that Allah (SWT) in His infinite mercy, will grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdausi. We also pray that his colleagues, family members and the people of Nigeria, will have the courage to bear the irreparable loss.

“Once again, please accept our heartfelt condolences”, the letter said, adding that “please accept the assurances of His Highness’s esteemed regards. Allah Ya kare mutumcin mu da addinin mu. Allah Ya bamu lafiya da zaman lafiya,” it said in conclusion.
