Apologize Over Inability to Fix, Build New Refinaries – Murray-Bruce To FG

By Moses Patience Chat

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Silverbird Group, a multi-media company in Nigeria, Senator Benedict Murray-Bruce, has charged the Federal Government to apologize to Nigerians for its inability to build new or fix the refineries in the country.

Murray-Bruce made the charge in an interview with journalists at the inauguration of the Dangote Refinary in Lagos on Monday.

“It took one man to do what government should have done over the years. He has basically embarrassed multiple governments in Nigeria. It took one man to build this refinery and they couldn’t fix the refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna. Government should apologize to Nigerians for not being able to do what one man has done,” Murray-Bruce said.

He also noted that price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) will increase and that Nigerians will have to buy at the market value.

According to him, the Dangote Refinery is not going to make prices drop, you are going to pay market value. If you ar now paying about N8,000 to N10,000 thousand to get a full tank, then be ready to pay about N30,000.

He added that unless government decides to subsidize, Nigerians will have to buy fuel at market price as selling outside the market value will cause the Dangote Refinery to go bankrupt.
