In the ember months, there are quite a number of hot movies in the offing for viewers pleasure, as the year winds down.
Among the new releases is the long and eagerly anticipated ‘No Time To Die’ – the latest James Bond offering which sees Daniel Craig in his franchise swan-song.
Cinemas will also play host to science fiction action comedy ‘Free Guy’, starring Ryan Reynolds as well as Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and ‘The Legend of The Ten Rings’.
These movies range from action, romance, comedy and tragi-comdey; below are the rundown of the movies for you to book your space in the cinema close to you.
No Time To Die
Other New movie releases 2021 include: ‘Black Widow’. The hotly-anticipated Bond 25, finds 007, played by Daniel Craig in his franchise swansong, pulled out of retirement to locate a kidnapped scientist.
The Addams Family 2
Released just in time for spooky season, everyone’s favourite eerie family is back on the big screen. The animated comedy, sees Morticia and Gomez struggling – as all parents do – to let go of their children and, in a bid to hold onto them, drag them all off on one last family holiday.
The Father
Best Actor at the Baftas and Oscars for Anthony Hopkins makes his the most feted film performance yet to be widely seen, in Florian Zeller’s moving adaptation of his own play about a man with advanced dementia.
Black Widow
After a two-year hiatus, the Marvel Cinematic Universe returns to big screens everywhere, with a spy-themed, Scarlett Johansson-led chapter that fleshes out the pre-Infinity War timeline.
The Last Letter From Your Lover
This romantic drama tells interwoven stories set in the past and present that follow an ambitious journalist determined to solve the mystery of a forbidden love affair from 1965.
Space Jam: A New Legacy
Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes are back – this time to help superstar Lakers star LeBron James and his son, Dom, get home. Trapped in a digital space by a rogue AI, it all comes down to a high-stakes basketball game (featuring Bugs, Daffy and the rest of the gang, of course) to beat the Goon Squad in this long-awaited sequel.
Free Guy

The Amazing Grace
Youssou N’Dour played the role of Olaudah Equiano in the movie Amazing Grace. A Jeta Amata film, “The Amazing Grace” tells the remarkable story of British slave trader John Newton, who had sailed to the now Nigeria in 1748 to buy slaves but later gave up the trade and became an Anglican priest. After he almost lost his life in a violent storm at sea, Newton gave his life to Christ. According to him, it was the grace of God that saved his life. Subsequently devoting his entire life to religion, Newton penned one of the world’s most famous religious hymns ever, Amazing Grace.”
The Wait
This movie follows the lives of different individuals and families as they try to navigate the disappointments and obstacles of life while waiting for their moment in the sun. The feature-length film stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva, Jimmy Odukoya, Chimezie Imo and Meg Otanwa. This emotional and suspense-filled thriller will keep you at the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Eagle Wings
Eagle wings is a Nollywood and the Nigerian Airforce film collaboration, is currently being shot at several locations in the country. Starring Nollywood stars Eyinna Nwigwe and Femi Jacobs as leads, the film is a poignant action war drama about an Airforce Fighter Pilot who is caught in the harrowing world of insurgency.
The producer, Paul Apel Papel, is a Colorado Film School-trained filmmaker.
According to him, the film explores the often tragic, yet thrilling business of fighting for life, peace, and the freedom to love in the face of great violence.
