AEDC Commissions 3 Feeders, Installs Auto Reclosers to Boost Power Supply in FCT

The Management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution (AEDC) has announced the completion of the construction of three 33KV feeders as, well as the installation of auto reclosers at the Dawaki 2x60MVA, 132/33KV transmission station aimed at boosting electricity supply within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of AEDC, Donald Etim, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja.

The Company has said that the Dawaki 2x60MVA, 132/33KV transmission station in FCT, which was commissioned in November 2022, is expected to boost electricity supply to Gwarinpa, Life Camp, Kubwa, and surroundings.

The CMO, while quoting the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AEDC, Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi, said that Abuja Electricity is evacuating the initial load from this facility starting from 17th April, 2023, on two feeders.

He added that the constructed 33KV feeders will de-load Gwarinpa and Life Camp 33KV feeders from AT2 Katampe, as well as Dawaki and Bwari 33KV feeders from AT4 Kubwa TS.

Etim stated that the project will enhance power supply availability within areas like Gwarinpa, Dawaki, Katampe, Life Camp, Kubwa, Bwari, and surroundings.

He maintained that the feeders will not only help de-load the existing infrastructure but will also improve the overall performance of the Company’s distribution network, while ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted power supply to its esteemed customers in Gwarinpa, Life Camp and other affected locations.
