In a significant achievement for regional energy integration, Dangote Refinery, in partnership with Neptune Oil, has completed the first-ever export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from its refinery to Cameroon, Vanguard newspaper gas reported.
The historic milestone, announced yesterday by Dangote, highlights the strategic collaboration between the two companies and strengthens economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon. This move is also in response to the growing energy demand in the region.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, commented on the success, saying, “This first export of PMS to Cameroon is a clear demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa. Through this, we are building a foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged across the continent for the benefit of our people.”
Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for Cameroon. By importing petroleum products directly from Dangote Refinery, we are enhancing our country’s energy security and fostering local economic growth. This first supply, free of international intermediaries, reflects our commitment to serving our markets efficiently and independently.”
