The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Abuja Section, in keeping with its aims and objectives, has expanded its scope reaching out to kids with a view to encouraging lifelong learning among all ages. This is in partnership with TEDxMboraAdults in sponsoring the biggest kid event in the nation’s capital namely TEDxKids themed: Blazing Generations.
The event which took place at the Aretean, Garki, Abuja had children of various age groups inspiring the audience, through poetry, motivational speeches and story- telling, suggesting creative solutions to the next generation.
Representing the Section, Mrs. Betty Ugona, Chief Innovation Officer of the NNPC took time out to intimate the attendees on the benefits of being a professional member of the SPE.
She inspired the audience on the need to pay attention to emotional intelligence, after which she donated 100 copies of her book titled Emotional Intelligence: A TOOL IN MY HAND, to the organizers.
The Section was also represented by SPE Abuja Section Chair, Engr. Amina Danmadami; Programs Chair, SPE Abuja, Victor Anochie; Section Director, Engr. Ere Iyalla, and other Senior Professional Members.
Organizers of the event, represented by Ikalone Udo, in a closing remark, expressed deep gratitude to the SPE Abuja Section, appreciating her partnership and the program’s impact to young children.
